This 1956 letter is a mystery. To whom was it written? Who are the people referenced in the letter? What are the events that motivated the letter?

Dear Dolls:

When you get this Mother will be home in her apartment and resting and enjoying her air-conditioned apartment.  Bless her, I love her so much.  She must know that she must rest completely, not worry, and stay sweet.  Those are the best remedies for her.  Honey, I love you in case I haven’t told you lately.  Just be well, don’t worry everything is OK here and the kids look wonderful.   Even the yard looks good.  The weather is glorious.  The kids are looking forward to the trip to Phila.  So am I.

I wrote Esther a letter like you said and told her not to worry as the deal seems to be straightening out all by itself.  And it will.  I have been getting along just great with Nate so you see all seems calm.  Kathy swam across the pool today, so did Gary.  They will be swimmers by the time summer is over.

Not much else doll except my boundless love to you and mother, stay well both of you.  Until I see you ‑‑‑

Love, Abe
